Although TeachMeetGA 2012 grew significantly from the first year, we want to grow even more in 2013. This year, TeachMeetGA is on Saturday, January 19, 2013. Since that Saturday happens to fall on a three-day weekend for most educators, people can come have a full day of learning and sharing and STILL have two days to relax and process all the information. People from outside the immediate area can come to Atlanta for the extended weekend--perhaps take time to visit The King Center on this special weekend.

TeachMeet is a grassroots experience organized by educators, for educators. People who have been to TeachMeet like to call it the unconference. TeachMeet (un)conferences happen all over the world. They are put on by teachers, for teachers, at no cost. These FREE events are underwritten by generous sponsors.

Tipos de Weblocal Hospedagem de sites

Hospedagem pode ser divida em seis tipos genéricos: gratuita, partilhada, revenda, servidor virtual (VPS), dedicado e co-location.

Hospedagem de sites Weblocal Grátis: a maioria dos serviços gratuitos de hospedagem são extremamente limitados quando comparados à hospedagem paga. Geralmente estes serviços incluem banners e outros tipos de propaganda nos sites. Além disso, a maioria oferece somente envio de sites por uma interface web, o que não é tão eficiente quando o envio por FTP. Também, geralmente, o espaço em disco e o tráfego de dados é limitado. De qualquer forma, muitas pessoas iniciam seu site através da hospedagem gratis.
Hospedagem Compartilhada: dezenas a centenas de sites são hospedados num mesmo servidor o que garante o melhor custo-benefício. Hoje os sistemas são estáveis o suficiente para permitir um serviço de qualidade mesmo nessas condições. O uptime (tempo de serviço no ar) deve ser cerca de 99,5% do tempo, pois a administração de múltiplos sites num mesmo servidor requer manutenções mais constantes que um único site por servidor.
Revenda de Hospedagem: serviço oferecido para quem quer oferecer hospedagem de sites. O espaço em disco e tráfego nestes planos é superior a Hospedagem Compartilhada e pode-se colocar diversos sites.
Servidor Virtual (VPS): é uma tecnologia que torna um mesmo servidor capaz de rodar diversas plataformas diferentes, tornando capaz controlar melhor a hospedagem de seu site. É indicado para aplicações que precisam acesso total ao sistema operacional mas que não precisem de muita capacidade de processamento.
Hospedagem em Cloud: É a evolução do Servidor Virtual, pois permite a rápida migração para outro hardware caso apresente falhas. Por outro lado, é uma opção com custo inferior ao Servidor Dedicado mas com qualidade superior, pois o dedicado está sujeito a mais falhas. A vantagem em relação à hospedagem compartilhada é que não custa consideravelmente mais e ainda assim permite isolação de recursos e que um site aguente uma quantidade muito superior de visitas ao mesmo tempo.
Servidor Dedicado: é o serviço mais caro, porém, superior a Hospedagem Compartilhada e ao Servidor Virtual, pois pode-se controlar melhor o servidor. Além de contratar um servidor, é também necessário saber que se necessita gerenciá-lo, o que requer um profissional qualificado, principalmente para gerenciar a segurança do servidor contra crackers. O hardware é fornecido pelo data center.
Co-location: este serviço é semelhante ao Servidor Dedicado, porém o online hardware não é fornecido pelo data center mas sim pelo próprio contrante.
Streaming: este serviço é oferecido para disponibilizar vídeos ou áudio online no formato 1 cliente → 1 servidor → N usuários.

SCHEDULE: A skeleton of the schedule for the 2013 event is available. Since TeachMeetGA follows the "unconference" format, sessions will be developed and added up until the week of the event. The more educators who volunteer to present, the more sessions that will be added. A schedule with session descriptions will not be posted just before the event.

TeachMeetGA is January 19, 2013, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It will be held at the Continuing Education Center of Kennesaw State University.
You will be able to network and see what works for real teachers in their classrooms.
Refreshments/lunch will be provided to allow ample time for networking and collaboration.
Anyone can present and the topics are open, so click on the presentation pages to submit topic ideas. We want this to be useful to teachers, so the teachers coming have input and control over the conference.
The presentations and organization will reflect best practices that we can model for our students.
There will be no long PowerPoint presentations Webmail.
Presentations are 15-20 minutes long and there is always more than one running at once, so everyone should be able to find things that suit their interest.
Presentations can be made in person or via Skype. We encourage you to include students and/or student products in presentations.
FREE wireless is available and you are encouraged to bring your laptop, netbook, iPad, etc.
A computer lab monitored by an experienced user will be available for participants to explore tools like presented during the presentations.
This (un)conference will focus mostly on applications of educational technology for authentic learning. This encompasses Web 2.0 tools, learning management systems, wikis, Nings, social networks, Google Tools, and more. Algumas extensões de domínios são usadas até hoje apenas por determinados países, como domínios com extensão .com.br que quer dizer que o domínio é de um site Brasileiro como da Weblocal Hospedagem de sites, então vai ser muito difícil você encontrar um site ou blog do Reino Unido por exemplo, usando essa extensão, a não ser claro que a pessoa dona do domínio seja um Brasileiro morando por lá.
Mas isso não significa que, porque você é Brasileiro seu domínio precisa ter essa extensão. Você pode ter a extensão que quiser para seu domínio, se estiver disponível para compra, é claro.
